Thursday 9th September - PETER KING QUARTET
£10 (£8)
Peter King reportedly took up the clarinet and saxophone as a teenager, reputedly having been taught by Vera Lynn's father-in law, Harry Lewis, and soon decided to become a professional jazz musician. He has been a major player on the UK jazz scene ever since.
His work as a solo artiste, and with his regular quartet, has included appearing with jazz legends such as Bud Powell, Elvin Jones, Max Roach, Milt Jackson, Frank Foster's 'new' Count Basie Band and the Ray Charles Orchestra.
Thursday 7th October - TONY KOFI QUARTET
£10 (£8)
UK jazz musician, Tony Kofi, plays alto, baritone and soprano saxophones, and flute, learnt in a series of jazz workshops and lessons from a local saxophonist, before his graduation to Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, on a full scholarship.
As well as heading his own quartet, he has been associated with a number of leading jazz combos, including the Afro Jazz Family, the Jazz Warriors and the World Saxophone Quartet.
Thursday 4th November - THREEWAY
£10 (£8)

Threeway is a jazz trio with a difference. Ben Crosland, an experienced composer and bandleader in the North, established the group in 2004, to explore the possibilities of playing his own original compositions in a trio without drums.
In Threeway's original music, a Celebration of the English Calendar and Climate, Ben Crosland on bass, Steve Waterman, trumpet, and Steve Lodder, piano, create many different tone colours in a satisfying and well-rounded performance. The trio also includes contemporary readings of classic jazz standards in its repertoire.
